Due to COVID-19 and the lack of ability to have live performances, Woodinville Dance Academy's Inside Out Dance Company is taking a break. Instead, we have designed this years dance schedule to incorporate shorter themed dance sessions with fun video performances at the end of each session. Once restrictions are lifted, we will be excited to start up our performing group again!
Inside Out is for our students who are serious about honing their craft and who want to expand their dance experience through more performance opportunities. Through Inside Out we try to provide year-round opportunities to dance and perform; as well as local educational experiences such as field trips to professional performances and master classes.

Performance Opportunities
We are a non-competitive dance company performing locally in the greater Seattle area, as well as performing numerous times in Disneyland; where students are able to attend a special master class taught by professional Disneyland performers and choreographers. We have also performed in the half-time show at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California, where we had the opportunity to take multiple master classes taught by leading industry professionals.
Company Rules and GuidelinesMandatory parent and student meeting:
There will be a mandatory meeting for all company members before each audition. All company members must attend this with a parent! Parents must attend this meeting even if you've been in company before. Company Fees: $80 dollar Company fee for new company members (due at first school year rehearsal). $40 dollar Company fee per student if you were in Company last year (if you need to order a new sweatshirt the cost will be an additional $40). Fee is non refundable, even if you are removed from the Company or if you drop out of the company. Rehearsal & Costume Fees:Monthly rehearsal payments as per rehearsal schedule. You will also be expected to pay for a costume for each dance. Company Rules: We have a high standard for our Dance Company. Inside Out Dance Company is run differently than regular classes; we expect a higher commitment from dancers who are in the Dance Company. The following rules will help us to achieve these higher standards: Absences: You are only allowed 2 absences from September-January for each company dance. You are only allowed 2 absences from February-mid June for each company dance. You may be removed from that company piece for the next performance or for the rest of the year if you exceed absences. This includes all absences (it does not matter if it is "excused" or not). If you are removed from that company piece, you will be replaced by an understudy and will no longer attend rehearsals for that piece or pay for any rehearsals of that piece the month after you have been removed. The original Company fee is non refundable. This attendance rule also applies to understudies. If you are sick and can attend the class to watch, this will not be an absence, however if this happens excessively the instructor may choose to use an understudy in place of you for an upcoming performance. Injuries: You cannot perform in a Company Pointe dance if you are injured and cannot wear your Pointe shoes. You cannot perform in a Company Tap dance if you cannot wear your Tap shoes. You cannot perform if you are injured and have not participated in technique class for 2 weeks prior to a performance. If you are recovering from an injury you need to participate in technique class for 2 weeks before you can perform again. If you are injured you will be replaced by an understudy for any shows that occur while you are injured. Once recovered from your injury (and have been able to participate in technique class for two weeks) you will be able to perform your part again in the upcoming performance. The rehearsal directly before a show is mandatory: However, if you have to miss a rehearsal before a show, there is a possibility of still performing. You must inform your instructor personally and it will be up to the instructor to decide if you may perform or if an understudy will be used. Decision will be based on previous attendance and knowledge of the choreography as well as how your absence will affect the dance. All decisions are final, and there will be no negotiation once the decision is made. Schedule of Performances: Many of our performances cannot be confirmed until January. Please try and be flexible with your planning of family events/vacations, waiting to plan these until after our schedule is confirmed in January is recommended. We will not have any performances over Northshore School Districts Spring Break, or Mid-Winter Break. |
